Not that good!!!!
I went to Selwo Safari Park yesterday and it was the best day I have had in a longtime! I have worked in various numbers of zoos around the world including the New York zoo and Steve Irwins zoo in Áustralia! I think the animals were treated brilliantly! They were free to roam and the crocodile has now been let into a bigger encloser! It was like being in Africa! I think Sarah Tugwell is too serious about these things and needs to know how to have fun and let loose. I will definitely be going back and the people were brill!!
I have recently visited Selwo, I was totally disgusted with the way the animals were kept, a Crocodile in a tiny enclosure with a small amount of Green water. A animal similar to an anteater had NO Skin on his face, his tail was bald and there were holes in his body.A bad case of mange I assume. A small pony with what looked like sweet itch was in an enclosure with NO SHADE! the heat was unbearable to me let alone an animal with a fur coat in obvious distress. The animals looked lifeless and as if their spirit had been broken. There was no workers around to ask why the animals were in such a state, we left after 30 minutes, asking at customer services for a refund, a very rude unhelpful Spanish man said that we had to write a complaint form, he also told me that the animals 'were not his problem' I would have liked to have locked him up in this hell hole. I urge people not to line the pockets of these idiots that do not care for the animals welfare. Boycott this cruelty. I am still waiting for a refund and response from the complaint.
My father in law lives in Puerto Banus and on a trip to visit him, myself and my partner went to Selwo. It was amazing, better than any Zoo that you get in the UK. The animals were amazing, the scenery was gorgeous and was definitely a highlight of our trip. We are going back to Puerto Banus in 2 weeks and will definitely visit Selwo again xxx
My husband and I took our two kids ages 4 and 6 and absolutely loved this place. The animals were free to roam and you could walk or ride the open buses as much as you want. This was one of the highpoints of our whole vacation to Malaga!!!
well my family lee (my partner) and my children chloe (10) and Alfie (2) we were holidaying in torremolinos and went on a trip to selwo safari as part of the selwo pack. we had a great time going around all the enclosures looking at animals like goats, cheetah, red pandas and monkeys etc. we then went on a truck up on a hill to see the African animals. amongst the animals we saw were tigers, bears, camels, elephants (including a tiny baby elephant), zebra, giraffe and antelope. we ate our packed lunch at the top and when we finished we cooled ourselves under the pipes spraying out cool water. there were so many more animals that we saw, we then walked down the hill under a huge net canopy surrounded by trees such as mango and kiwi. there was said to be hundreds of birds of many different kinds but we only saw a few. when we approached the bottom we saw there was a zip line that people can pay to go on at 5 euro each. we then stopped for a drink and went around the souvenir shop, things were priced a little on the steep side but we still managed to get a few bits. we then went for another walk around and came across some more water fountains which is were we stayed till our coach picked us up as it was a scorching day reaching 46 degrees!! the only thing that we really were unhappy about (but which never had anything to do with selwo)was if your on a coach trip coming from torremolinos, benalmadena or fuengirola be prepared to be on the coach for around 2 1/2 hours. the coach dropped us off at 11.20 nearly everyone on the coach trip had finished looking around by 2.30-3 pm yet the coach never picked us up till 5.15pm!!! it was so hot and uncomfortable especially as we had our 2 yr old! all in all though it was a fantastic day.
